Department:  Harrisburg – Operations & Facilities Services

Availability of Position:  ASAP

Schedule: 15 hours/week / Non-Exempt

Reporting Relationship:  Operations Manager  

Salary and Grade$24.00 per hour / 76

Responsibilities:

Position Overview: The Facilities Lead is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of the organization's buildings, equipment, vehicles, and grounds. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure facilities and organizational vehicles operate efficiently and remain safe and reliable for staff, the people we serve, and all program participants. This position identifies maintenance needs, completes assigned repairs, and coordinates with supervisors or external vendors when specialized work is required.

 

Description of Position:  The Facilities Lead helps ensure that The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region Corps maintains a safe, clean, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, program participants, and guests. This position is responsible for routine building maintenance, preventative maintenance, minor repairs, grounds care, vehicle monitoring and upkeep, and facility safety. This position also supports room setups for programs and events, assists with seasonal maintenance, and helps identify and address facility and security needs.

 

Working closely with the Operations Manager, this position plays a vital role in maintaining the organization's buildings, grounds, and fleet while ensuring compliance with safety standards and supporting the daily operations and ministry of The Salvation Army.

Qualifications:

Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years work experience in related field
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English
  • Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be trustworthy and responsible
  • Must understand and be willing to extend great customer service
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
