Position Description
About the Division: Seattle Parks and Facilities Maintenance Division performs maintenance at over 25 miles of boulevards, 465 parks, including 26 community centers, 8 indoor swimming pools, 2 outdoor (summer) swimming pools, 4 environmental education centers, 2 small-craft centers, 4 golf courses, and an outdoor stadium. We place strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service to the public, clients, and staff to ensure public safety and enjoyment while they are at SPR facilities and parks.
Position Description: Seattle Parks and Facilities Maintenance Division is seeking a Facilities Lead Worker to help support and guide the Play Area/Recreation Equipment team. In this role, you will work with the Construction and Repair Crew Chief to install, maintain, and repair a wide range of park infrastructure, including play area equipment, sport courts, benches, picnic tables, barbecues, signs, and other park furnishings.
Under general supervision, you will plan, schedule, coordinate, and lead the work of staff responsible for equipment installation, site preparation, routine custodial maintenance, and event-related set-ups or change-overs in parks and public assembly facilities. The position requires knowledge of playground and recreation equipment, safe work practices, proper use of hand and power tools, and effective techniques for leading a crew.
This role involves independent decision-making, interpreting and following established procedures, and working with internal teams, other City departments, contractors, and the public to ensure high-quality maintenance and service delivery.
We are currently recruiting for one (1) regular, benefited position on the Day Shift.

Two years experience performing general laboring/manual work, good physical condition, and the ability to work with hand and power tools is required. (Or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

This position is part of the 3-Step Compensation program; The full salary range for this position is $39.18 (Step 1) - $42.22 (Step 3) hourly.

This position is represented by LiUNA Local 242 - Laborers and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
