Full-Time | 19.00-$20.00 per hourSTAR, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Assistant to help maintain our residential and program locations throughout lower Fairfield County.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys fixing things, solving everyday maintenance issues, and takes pride in keeping buildings safe, clean, and well maintained. We are looking for someone with solid general handyman skills who can handle a variety of routine repairs and maintenance projects.ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance and minor repairs at STAR facilitiesComplete basic carpentry, painting, patching, and repair workHandle minor plumbing and fixture repairsAssemble, install, and repair furniture, shelving, hardware, and equipmentReplace light bulbs, fixtures, locks, handles, and other basic building componentsAssist with preventative maintenance and routine property inspectionsHelp maintain the appearance and safety of STAR propertiesRespond to maintenance requests and complete work in a timely mannerAssist the Facilities team with other projects as neededWhat We're Looking ForGeneral handyman and maintenance experienceComfortable using common hand and power toolsAbility to troubleshoot and complete basic repairs independentlyReliable, organized, and able to manage multiple work requestsGood communication skills and a positive, respectful approachValid driver's license and reliable driving recordAbility to travel between STAR locations in the Fairfield County areaAbility to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working indoors and outdoors Experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related field is helpful, but we are most interested in finding someone who is dependable, capable, and knows how to fix things.Compensation$19.00-20.00 per hourSTAR, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
