About the Position
We are looking for a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance & Detail Specialist to help maintain multiple dog grooming locations throughout the Birmingham area.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in fixing things the right way, and notices the small details that others may overlook. This position will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, light repairs, painting, minor plumbing work, detailed cleaning, and general facility upkeep.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently, managing a variety of projects, and helping ensure our locations remain clean, safe, professional, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform light plumbing repairs, including replacing faucets, fixing minor leaks, unclogging drains, and addressing other basic plumbing issues.
- Complete minor facility repairs involving doors, locks, hinges, shelving, fixtures, caulking, drywall, and other general maintenance needs.
- Perform interior and exterior touch-up painting and minor drywall repairs.
- Assemble, install, and repair equipment, shelving, fixtures, and other facility items as needed.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential issues before they become larger problems.
- Perform detailed and deep cleaning of facilities, equipment, walls, floors, baseboards, vents, fixtures, and other areas requiring special attention.
- Maintain organized maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize projects based on urgency and operational needs.
- Travel between multiple locations in the Birmingham area as needed.
- Communicate clearly regarding completed repairs, outstanding needs, and recommended improvements.
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish while maintaining high standards for quality and attention to detail.
What We're Looking For

- Have general handyman or facilities maintenance experience.
- Be comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
- Have basic knowledge of light plumbing, painting, drywall repair, and general facility maintenance.
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing quality work.
- Be comfortable performing detailed cleaning when needed.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions.
- Be physically able to lift, carry, bend, climb ladders, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks.
- Have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between locations.
- Maintain a professional attitude when working around employees, customers, and pets.
