Facilities Maintenance Helper performs miscellaneous manual labor and janitorial activities required for daily upkeep of the facility's buildings and grounds, while following well-defined instructions. Facilities Maintenance Helper will aid team members in the completion of various tasks and day-to-day maintenance duties as required while supporting the safety and the utilization of company facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance.

Day shift position with a core workweek of Monday through Friday from 6 am - 2:30 pm. Overtime is voluntary when available.

JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs daily routine cleaning and waste removal service for shop floor/ Maintenance as necessary.

  • Maintains equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning

  • Assists Maintenance Tech with their tasks under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor.

  • Performs basic lawn care and landscaping and repairs as needed.

  • Performs minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting as needed to maintain facilities.

  • Maintains a safe and effective work area/environment with the use of appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.

  • Monitors building premises to ensure occupant or visitor safety - salt and clean sidewalks of snow.

  • Cleans building walls, flooring, equipment, or other 5S areas.

  • Supports the Facilities function as needed.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.

Years Experience: 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience required.

Skils

  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to operate routine cleaning equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions
  • Effective time management
  • Ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, to meet deadlines
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Decision making skills

TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds regularly.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to hear or talk to effectively communicate with delivery personnel and internal customers.

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.

  • Ability to perform rapid repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiently for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift.
