Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the company's buildings, grounds, and facility systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of company property, equipment, and infrastructure while supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Building & Facility Maintenance Perform routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and facility equipment. Repair and maintain doors, windows, walls, floors, roofing, and other building components. Complete painting, carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical repairs as needed. Maintain lighting systems and replace bulbs, fixtures, and electrical components. Grounds Maintenance Maintain landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks, fencing, and exterior property. Operate lawn care and groundskeeping equipment. Assist with snow removal, ice control, and weather-related facility preparation as required. Preventive Maintenance Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on facility systems and equipment. Inspect HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, and utility systems. Identify potential maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions. Equipment & Repairs Troubleshoot and repair facility-related equipment and systems. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services. Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports. Safety & Compliance Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Assist with facility safety inspections and corrective action programs. Maintain clean and organized maintenance work areas. Support emergency response and facility-related incidents when necessary.
Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Technical training, trade school certification, or maintenance-related education preferred. Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance, facilities, construction, or industrial experience preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and work orders. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize workload and work with limited supervision. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and work at varying heights. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance vehicles and equipment. Working Conditions Manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor environments. Exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and moving equipment. Overtime and emergency call-in work may be required.
