Facilities Maintenance Lead

Property Overview

Henderson Sport & Social is a state-of-the-art, 180,000-square-foot destination opening in Henderson, Nevada. The facility is designed to become the premier destination for youth and adult sports, recreation, fitness, dining, and family entertainment while serving as a gathering place for the local community.

Our facility features basketball, volleyball, pickleball, indoor turf fields, bowling, a dual-level laser tag arena, Krazy Darts, miniature golf, arcade games, a full-service restaurant and bar, fitness center, Child Watch, and flexible event spaces capable of hosting birthday parties, tournaments, corporate outings, and community celebrations.

Position Summary

Lead the daily operations of the Facilities Maintenance department by coordinating preventative maintenance, coaching Facilities Maintenance Technicians, maintaining facility readiness, and ensuring Henderson Sport & Social remains safe, clean, fully operational, and guest-ready every day.

Facilities Maintenance Leads set the standard for craftsmanship, urgency, teamwork, and proactive facility care while supporting the development of the maintenance team. Great maintenance teams don't wait for problems, they prevent them, communicate them, and solve them together.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Facilities Maintenance Lead:

  • Maintains a safe, clean, fully operational, and guest-ready facility.
  • Coaches and develops Facilities Maintenance Technicians through leadership, accountability, and mentorship.
  • Ensures preventative maintenance, inspections, and work orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Prioritizes repairs based on guest impact, safety, and operational needs.
  • Maintains organized tools, inventory, workspaces, and maintenance documentation.
  • Responds calmly and effectively to emergencies while supporting the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Builds a culture of ownership, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Leads by example through Henderson Sport & Social's Core True Service Philosophy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Facilities Maintenance Technicians through ongoing feedback, mentorship, and daily leadership.
  • Assign work orders, preventative maintenance assignments, and daily priorities while balancing operational needs.
  • Verify completion of preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and maintenance documentation.
  • Approve breaks, coordinate daily workflow, and ensure adequate department coverage.
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, coaching documentation, and performance recommendations. Final hiring and disciplinary decisions remain with the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Foster a positive culture built on professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Facility Operations

  • Oversee daily preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and work order completion throughout the facility.
  • Ensure attractions, sports equipment, fitness equipment, restaurant equipment, building systems, and guest-facing amenities remain safe, functional, and guest-ready.
  • Coordinate vendor visits, communicate project updates, and partner with the Facilities Maintenance Manager on larger maintenance projects.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory, tools, equipment, and workspaces while recommending replacement parts and supply orders as needed.
  • Identify recurring maintenance concerns and recommend long-term preventative maintenance solutions.

Safety & Emergency Response

  • Serve as the maintenance team leader during facility emergencies until relieved by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs, secure unsafe areas, and assist with the execution of Henderson Sport & Social Emergency Action Plans.
  • Ensure safety concerns, hazards, and equipment failures are addressed immediately and communicated appropriately.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by leading daily facility inspections and reinforcing department safety expectations.

Teamwork & Guest Service

  • Provide exceptional guest service by assisting guests, answering questions, and representing Henderson Sport & Social professionally during every interaction.
  • Resolve facility-related guest concerns with urgency and professionalism while protecting the guest experience.
  • Support other departments whenever operationally appropriate and within the scope of training.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Previous commercial or facility maintenance experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

  • Commercial facility maintenance
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Carpentry
  • Drywall and painting
  • HVAC
  • Preventative maintenance programs
  • Leadership in hospitality, recreation, or entertainment facilities
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (training may be provided)

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in varying environments for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Safely operate ladders, lifts, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance while working throughout guest-facing areas of the facility.
