Pay Rate: $28+/hr DOE

Position Type: Full Time

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on diesel and natural gas emergency generator systems to ensure reliability and uptime.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, and commission generators, including monthly, quarterly, and annual testing in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot critical support equipment, including ATS, battery chargers, starting systems, voltage regulators, and engine control systems.
- Monitor and verify proper operation of fuel, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, alarm, shutdown, and protective systems.
- Respond to generator failures and emergency power events, diagnosing issues and restoring safe, efficient operation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, interpret technical documentation and schematics, coordinate with vendors and operations teams, and adhere to all safety requirements, including LOTO and NFPA 70E.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in generator, electrical, industrial, military power generation, or related maintenance environments.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generator controls, power distribution systems, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
- Proficient in using electrical test equipment, including multimeters, insulation testers, and power quality analyzers.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings, with strong communication, documentation, and electrical safety practices.
Preferences: - Experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, Kohler, or Generac generators.
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
Physical Effort/Activities:
May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
