    FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE PROJECT MANAGER
    Job Description Overview
    The Facilities and Maintenance Project Manager position is responsible for overseeing and leading the general maintenance and up-keep of equipment and buildings within the company’s office space, manufacturing space, and grounds across our three facilities in Kalamazoo. This position reports to the Industrial Engineering Manager and must work effectively at scheduling and working without supervision. This position will perform other duties as requested, which will include the direct supervision of outside contractors and may include employee supervision.
     
    Qualifications
    • Dedication to excellence and a quality output of all facilities.
    • High school diploma (Associates/Trade Certification in manufacturing discipline a plus).
    • Punctual with a bias for action.
    • Facility project work includes painting, drywalling, electrical, and plumbing.
    • The operation, cleaning, and maintenance of tools from hand tools to industrial capital equipment.
    • Possession of a valid Driver’s License (chauffer license a plus).
     
    General Responsibilities
    • Promote excellence throughout the company.
    • Project management and facilitating external contractors.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
    • Maintain maintenance preventative activities and all schedules.
    • Plan various projects and perform duties economically.
    • Maintain CMMS system and schedule work orders to close.
    • Support Safety Initiatives when needed.
    • Maintain P.O. tracker spreadsheet.
    • Maintain fork truck tracking and cost analysis.
    • Help develop annual maintenance and facility budget.
    • Facilitate excellent communication to appropriate personal for project & task timelines.
    • Continuous improvement is expected in all critical activities such as overall facility quality and appearance, safety and productivity.
    • Reporting to the appropriate team members major issues requiring outside support.
    • The employee will supply the basic tools required to perform the above operations.
    • Facilitate the Hot Work Permit system.
    • Point of contact for the fire alarm system.
    • Fork truck and scissor lift operation.
     
    Office Responsibilities
    • Inspection of lighting, walls, doors, woodwork, ceilings, and floors for damage.
    • Minor plumbing, electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
    • Annual breaker box and transformer inspections.
    • Repair minor wall damage and painting.
     
    Shop Floor Responsibilities
    • Inspection of lighting, walls, doors, columns, ceilings, and floor damage & repair.
    • Minor equipment and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
    • Evaluation of broken tools and equipment. Replace or repair as needed.
    • Annual breaker box inspections.
    • General maintenance on industrial equipment.
     
    Grounds Responsibilities
    • Inspection of exterior walls, roofing, gutters, heat tape, lighting, and parking lot for damage.
    • Repairs as necessary.
    Physical Requirements
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing throughout the day.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
