    918718No5625414010.00.007/15/2026Facilities Maintenance Tech IITexas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. May oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.45458BRUp to 25%

    • Ensure all 24/7 shifts are properly staffed while monitoring the quality, promptness and actions required for troubleshooting tasks.
    • Work with other trades and maintenance staff to complete maintenance and installation of building systems. Prepare and submit work documentation (i.e., work order submission, changes to system, PMs, etc.). Ensure documentation is prepared in a timely and accurate manner to efficiently monitor equipment.
    • Update, maintain and coordinate information and schematic drawings pertaining to the facilities' mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Install and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment (i.e., HVAC, boilers, Metasys, controls, valves, VFD's, etc.). Perform preventive maintenance functions as assigned.
    • Promptly respond to, and resolve, work-related calls such as temperature or odor complaints.
    • Monitor water treatment programs to ensure efficient utilization of water and chemicals to minimize waste. Promptly respond to complaints/concerns and resolve and/or escalate as required.
    • Monitor and control fire alarm systems and respond to life safety alarms. Monitor and respond to trouble signals in accordance with existing procedures and routines. Monitor and adjust set points and operating parameters to optimize systems and equipment under the guidance of mechanical tradesman leader and superintendent.
    • Maintain and monitor building energy management System. Produce reports and energy consumption trends for analysis.
    • Actively participate and complete training, personal development and continuing education.
    • Required to serve in a 24/7 on-call capacity to include coverage for nights, weekends and holidays. Must respond promptly when required to report to work during off-hours while on call. Required to maintain a current and valid State of Texas Drivers License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier.
    • Remain current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
    • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).

    • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to install, operate, maintain and install of building systems and associated equipment.
    • Demonstrated skill in proper use of the tools, equipment and devices used in the construction and maintenance trade.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational and safety hazards of the trade, PPE and industry accepted practices to prevent accidents.
    • Basic understanding of other trades and able to perform or assist in the completion of them.
