Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 & 2

Under the supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of City of Orem Campus Facilities, Cemetery, Fire Station 1-3, Fire Training Facility, Senior Center, Public Works, Police Department, and Water Treatment Plant. Technician will perform scheduled maintenance on assigned components in these buildings. General understaning of construction practices in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facilities management. Can operate a computer and is willing to learn how to operate the programs that control each buildings systems. Has graduated high school with diploma or GED. Can pass a pre-employment drug screan and criminal back ground check. Aplicant must be OSHA-30 certified or willing to become certified with in 6 months after start of employment. Applicant must have a valid drivers license an agree to maintain that license. Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Skill in the use of chemicals and cleaning solutions. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public and other employees. Must work the days and hours necessary to perform responsibilities. Must be available during regular business hours to conduct regular business. Works days and hours assigned and begins and ends work on time. Must be available after work hours for emergency situations. Will be on call for emergencies one to two weeks a month. Performs other duties as assigned. Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience. The City also provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
