Position Overview
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for performing maintenance and mechanical duties for assigned buildings and related facilities furnishings and equipment. Various required may include but are not limited to painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, roofing, and related work.
Responsibilities
• Performing welding repairs on docks and racks at floor level and at height up to 40 • Performing skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and modification of industrial equipment • Troubleshooting and repairing overhead doors and loading docks • Minor carpentry, plumbing, and light repairs • Performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systems • Reading and working from building plans and drawings • Contacting vendors, ordering parts, and overseeing contract work • Demonstrating continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease downtime, and streamline work processes • Inspecting roofs, doors, and auxiliary buildings • Reporting to your Supervisor all problems that interfere with a safe and orderly work environment • Adhering to company OSHA, state, and federal guidelines regarding safety • Maintaining compliance with protection requirements and following all work safety rules and procedures at all times and keeping the work area clean.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 200pm - 1030pm
Compensation $30.00 per hour
Environment Warehouse Grocery - approx. 50F - 90F Warehouse Perishable - approx. 26F - 60F Warehouse Freezer - approx. 0F - -20F Varying outdoor temperatures
Experience Preferred 2 years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair or related field Preferred experience with overhead door operations, repairs, loading dock operations, repairs, and welding Preferred proficiency in English, written and verbal, to effectively communicate with associates and leadership
Skills
• Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs, standing, bending, lifting, and twisting for up to 90% of your shift frequently lifting product from various heights, including floor level to over your head • Ability to stand or walk at least 8-10 hours daily working in various temperature-controlled environments • Ability to operate required material handling equipment - getting on and off equipment throughout shift • Ability to climb ladders and work from lift equipment • Strong communication skills: Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and solve problems • Organizational skills: Self-driven with the ability to multi-task and work with little or no supervision. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Working in a team-based environment: Able to work well with others and be a team player • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives • Safety culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates, driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift.
