Description

Position Overview:As a Facilities Maintenance Technician you are responsible for performing maintenance and mechanical duties for assigned buildings and related facilities, furnishings, and equipment. Various required may include but are not limited to painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, roofing and related work.

Responsibilities:

Performing welding repairs on docks and racks at floor level and at height up to 40'Performing skilled work in the maintenance, repair and modification of industrial equipmentTroubleshooting and repairing overhead doors and loading docksMinor carpentry, plumbing and light repairsPerforming preventative maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systemsReading and working from building plans and drawingsContacting vendors, ordering parts and overseeing contract workDemonstrating continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease down times, streamline work processesInspecting roofs, doors and auxiliary buildingsReporting to your Supervisor all problems that interfere with a safe and orderly work environmentAdhering to call company, OSHA, state and federal guidelines regarding safetyMaintain compliance with protection requirements, follow all work / safety rules and procedures at all times and keep work area clean.Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Schedule:

Tuesday- Saturday7:00am- 3:30pm

Compensation:

$30.00 per hour

Environment:

Warehouse Grocery - approx. 50F - 90FWarehouse Perishable - approx. 26F - 60F

Warehouse Freezer - approx. 0F - -20FVarying outdoor temperatures

Experience:

Preferred: 2 years' experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance/repair or related fieldPreferred: Experience with overhead door operations/repairs, loading dock operations/repairs and weldingPreferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Skills:

Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 8-10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment - getting on and off equipment throughout shift, ability to climb ladders and work from lift equipmentStrong communication Skills: Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems.Organizational Skills: Self driven with the ability to multi-task and be able to work with little or no supervision. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
