Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable environment for tenants and visitors. This position supports mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and general building maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service and responding to operational needs and emergencies.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation controls.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment and infrastructure.
+ Complete general building maintenance tasks, including lighting, ceilings, flooring, doors, roofing, parking areas, and other facility components.
+ Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and work orders.
+ Participate in an on-call rotation and respond promptly to after-hours emergencies.
+ Support tenant improvement and capital projects by assisting with inspections, system testing, construction coordination, and punch-list activities.
+ Collaborate with Property Management and Construction teams to address operational issues, maintenance needs, and budget planning.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
+ Provide outstanding customer service by responding to tenant requests and maintaining positive relationships with occupants, vendors, and service partners.
+ Attend training programs to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
Essential Skills
+ Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
+ Experience working with HVAC systems, controls, electrical systems, plumbing, and life safety systems.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ 3-5 years of commercial building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or operating engineer experience preferred.
+ Industry certifications or licenses related to HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or maintenance operations are a plus.
+ Ability to work overtime, respond to emergencies, and participate in an on-call rotation.
+ Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between local properties as needed.

Work Environment
The role operates in Downtown from 8am-5pm, with a requirement to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in mechanical spaces. The position involves lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with the ability to visually and audibly recognize and respond to emergency situations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
