Description
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Goleta, CA for an approximately five-month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and general facilities support across building systems and equipment. The technician will use a broad range of skilled trades experience to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and related systems.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 4–6 years of relevant experience.
At least 2 years of HVAC experience.
Experience across multiple skilled trades, including plumbing, structural work, electrical work, painting, and related maintenance disciplines.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience with light construction.
Experience with metalworking or machining.
Ability to use hand and power tools for facilities repair and maintenance.
Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
What You’ll Do
Perform routine repairs and maintenance on plant facilities, office facilities, and associated equipment.
Complete basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, plastic fabrication, and sheet metal work.
Troubleshoot facility and equipment problems and communicate findings as required.
Perform routine inspections to identify necessary repair and maintenance work.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Use hand and power tools to complete facility repairs and maintenance tasks.
Support light construction, metalworking, machining, and general facility improvement activities.
Pay
$47.40 per hour
