    Description

    We are seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician / Handyman to maintain the safety, appearance, and functionality of our facility. This position is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, and taking pride in keeping a property running smoothly.

    The successful candidate will have experience with commercial building maintenance, general repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility upkeep and will be comfortable working independently while supporting daily operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform routine building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot facility issues and complete repairs when possible.
    • Maintain interior and exterior areas of the property.
    • Complete painting, drywall repairs, carpentry, installations, and general handyman projects.
    • Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs within appropriate guidelines.
    • Assist with HVAC preventative maintenance tasks, including filter changes and inspections.
    • Maintain grounds, parking areas, and exterior property appearance.
    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed.
    • Maintain organized tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and records.
    • Assist with facility projects, furniture moves, and operational needs.
    • Operate a passenger shuttle van as needed after training.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
    • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3–5+ years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or handyman experience.
    • Experience maintaining commercial properties, healthcare facilities, schools, apartments, hotels, or similar buildings.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Experience working with contractors and outside vendors.

    Preferred Maintenance Skills

    Experience with:

    • Painting and drywall repair
    • Basic carpentry and woodworking
    • Door, lock, and hardware repairs
    • Furniture assembly and fixture installation
    • Mounting TVs, shelving, artwork, and equipment
    • Basic plumbing repairs
    • Basic electrical repairs (lights, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts)
    • Ceiling tiles, flooring, trim, and finish repairs
    • Pressure washing and grounds maintenance
    • Lawn care and exterior property upkeep
    • Preventative maintenance inspections and documentation
