Facilities Maintenance Technician I (GMP Environment)

Location: Livermore, CA

Pay: $21.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Overtime: Varies based on business needs

Empire Workforce Solutions is hiring a detail-driven technician to support facilities and production operations in Livermore, CA. If you have a knack for fixing things and want to grow your career across electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in a regulated environment, this role is for you.

A Day in the Life

You’ll start your morning walk-through ensuring building systems and manufacturing equipment are operating safely and efficiently. From there, you might troubleshoot a temperature control issue on a chiller, repair a minor plumbing concern, or perform preventive maintenance on a piece of production equipment. Throughout the day, you’ll document your work, communicate clearly with production and quality teams, and keep operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility and manufacturing equipment.
• Support utilities and building systems across electrical, plumbing, and HVAC functions.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and assist with corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and lab teams; communicate findings and next steps clearly.
• Use basic computer skills to log work, complete forms, and update maintenance records (MS Word/Excel).
• Apply good documentation practices and follow site procedures; GMP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to solving problems.
• Exposure to cGMP/compliance concepts for cosmetic or pharmaceutical products is a plus.
• Familiarity with boilers and chillers is advantageous.
• Knowledge of basic chemistry or microbiology lab techniques is helpful.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; able to maintain accurate documentation.
• Clear verbal and written communication; strong attention to detail.
• Ownership mindset with accountability and a professional work ethic.
• Excellent organization and time management; able to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable working independently and within a team; able to interface with all levels.
• Understanding of personal care manufacturing processes is beneficial.
• Sense of urgency and commitment to consistent performance.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
