Facility Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
At Cadence, we're advancing what's possible in medical device manufacturing - and we're looking for a dependable and skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of our facilities. This on-site role in Staunton, VA is responsible for helping ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment through preventive maintenance, equipment repair, troubleshooting, and facility upkeep.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to work independently while providing excellent service to internal customers.
Your expertise will keep our equipment running at peak performance and directly impact the quality, reliability, and efficiency of life-changing medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
Facility & Preventive Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility systems, equipment, and building infrastructure
- Identify and resolve maintenance concerns before they become larger issues
- Complete work orders and maintenance tasks in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records
HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including filter replacement and duct cleaning
- Inspect, repair, and maintain lighting, wiring, and electrical fixtures
- Repair plumbing fixtures, leaks, and clogged drains
- Support repairs and installations to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely
Building & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform basic carpentry work including repair of doors, windows, furniture, and building structures
- Complete painting and finishing projects as needed
- Support exterior maintenance including landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of indoor and outdoor spaces
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Inspect, service, and maintain facility machinery and equipment
- Diagnose operational issues and implement effective solutions
- Assist with installation and setup of new equipment and systems
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct safety inspections and address identified hazards
- Follow applicable building codes, safety procedures, and environmental regulations
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials and electronic waste
- Always utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Communication & Customer Support
- Communicate effectively with managers, team members, and contractors
- Provide excellent service to building occupants and address maintenance concerns professionally
- Collaborate across departments to support facility needs
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in general facility maintenance, building systems, or related technical work
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical documents, schematics, or maintenance instructions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Computer Skills
- Basic computer proficiency including email and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using work order systems or CMMS software preferred
- Ability to use smartphones or tablets for maintenance applications and communication
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and equipment
- Ability to wear required PPE and work in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:00pm with a 7% shift differential.
This position is paid hourly, 40 hours per week, overtime opportunities may be available.
