Overview

for our residents, staff, and visitors. The Facility Maintenance Person plays a key role in
maintaining the quality and safety of our buildings and grounds. This position involves
performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks to ensure that all areas of the
facility remain in top condition and support our commitment to excellence in care.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily maintenance and repair tasks throughout the facility, including resident
areas, common spaces, and exterior grounds.
• Complete painting, patching, and touch-up work to maintain a welcoming and
professional appearance.
• Conduct basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring
proper function of bathrooms and kitchen systems.
• Handle minor electrical work, such as changing light fixtures, outlets, and
troubleshooting small electrical issues.
• Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, door adjustments,
flooring repairs, and furniture upkeep.
• Maintain the grounds and landscaping, including lawn care, trimming, and debris
removal to keep the property neat and safe.
• Manage seasonal tasks, such as snow and ice removal to ensure safe access for staff,
residents, and visitors.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing safety and
minimal disruption to care services.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and report issues or recommendations to the
Maintenance Supervisor or Administrator.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards applicable
to healthcare environments.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and preventive
maintenance schedules.
Qualifications and Skills
• Experience in general building maintenance or a related trade, preferably in a healthcare
or senior living environment.
• Working knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment and materials safely; comfortable working both
indoors and outdoors.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and resident comfort.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred.
Working Conditions
• Full-time position; may require occasional evenings or weekends depending on facility
needs.
• On-call availability for emergency maintenance issues.
• Work performed both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions.
