Position Overview
The Facilities & Maintenance Technician supports the safe, clean, functional, and professional operation of the assigned Zalexy Group facility.
This position performs routine facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, inspections, and equipment troubleshooting. The Technician identifies facility concerns, completes work within the scope of their training, and coordinates specialized repairs with management and approved service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Readiness
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, and troubleshooting throughout the facility and grounds.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance, cleanliness, equipment, and safety concerns.
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance, inspections, checklists, and repair requests.
- Perform basic repairs involving fixtures, lighting, doors, hardware, walls, equipment, and other facility components within the scope of training.
- Maintain clean, organized, and operational facility, maintenance, storage, and common areas.
- Assist with equipment, furniture, supplies, facility setup, and other operational needs.
- Maintain appropriate maintenance tools, supplies, and inventory.
Safety & Equipment
- Identify and promptly address or report facility hazards, equipment failures, leaks, damage, or other safety concerns.
- Monitor pool, fitness, recreational, and other facility equipment as applicable to the assigned location.
- Follow established procedures for tools, equipment, cleaning products, chemicals, and personal protective equipment.
- Perform specialized pool, electrical, mechanical, chemical, or other maintenance work only when appropriately trained and authorized.
- Escalate significant safety concerns or repairs requiring specialized professional services.
Vendor & Team Support
- Communicate facility and repair needs to appropriate location leadership.
- Assist with coordinating approved contractors, vendors, and service technicians.
- Maintain applicable maintenance, inspection, repair, and service records.
- Coordinate maintenance work with facility and program teams to minimize disruption.
- Support facility preparation for programs, events, seasonal operations, and other business needs.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Previous facility, building, property, custodial, repair, or related maintenance experience.
- General knowledge of basic building maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns and determine when specialized assistance is required.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience maintaining fitness, aquatics, recreation, hospitality, or commercial facilities.
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, pool, or equipment maintenance.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Relevant maintenance, pool-operation, safety, or trade certifications.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $20-25 / hr
Benefits, if applicable, will be provided according to Zalexy Group policies and the terms of employment.
Schedule & Availability Requirements
Work hours are based on facility and staffing needs and may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Some maintenance may need to be completed outside normal operating hours. Occasional schedule adjustments may also be required for urgent repairs, equipment failures, or safety concerns.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
Physical Work Requirements
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, push, and pull.
- Ability to safely lift or move equipment, tools, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work throughout indoor and outdoor facility areas, including pool, fitness, recreational, storage, mechanical, and grounds areas.
- Work may involve water, humidity, wet surfaces, dust, cleaning products, varying temperatures, noise, and mechanical equipment.
- Employees may only perform specialized work within the scope of their training and authorization.
