Job Summary:

Responsible for performing building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry; painting, electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.). Supports all equipment moves and installations including utilities such as electric, air, vacuum, water, drains, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge, and/or experience with basics of one or more skilled trade such as: Electrician, HVAC, and Plumbing.
  • Exhibits good communication skills - verbal, written, and comprehension of the English language.
  • Fluent with using computers and basic functions of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using tools and equipment properly.
  • Familiarity with facility trade terminology and materials used, and general knowledge of facility troubleshooting techniques.
  • Adhered to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.
  • Localized intermittent exposure to various facility support conditions.
  • Exposure to seasonal temperatures.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts.

Experience:

  • 2+ years demonstrated aptitude, knowledge, and/or experience with basics of one or more skilled trade such as: Electrician, HVAC, and Plumbing.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required

The hourly rate for this position is $22.70-$32.00 per hour. The actual rate offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, and internal equity, in accordance with New York State pay transparency requirements.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Performs electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures, pumps (e.g., wall switches, outlets, led lighting and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.

  • Acts as a Company liaison with outside contractors & Vendors that are on site to preform repairs or services to maintain all Facilities related equipment. Also contacts outside vendors and contractors when specialty services are required to perform those types of repairs.

  • Performs Facility Preventative Maintenance (PM):

  • Conducts periodic audits of scheduled preventive maintenance events to ensure facility maintenance tasks are completed on time.

  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks in coordination with production schedule to minimize interruptions.

  • Documents completion of preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with SOP procedures.

  • Completes repairs on items related to HVAC, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, autoclaves, overhead doors, man doors, vacuum pumps, air compressors, vacuum blowers, sub-slab, temperature and humidity recorders, safety eye washes, safety shower inspections, sprinkler systems, CO2 system, ladder safety and any other facility related maintenance.

  • Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains, faucets, toilets, unclogging of drains, and new installation of air lines, water lines, drain lines, vacuum piping, & similar devices, etc.).

  • Performs painting, carpentry and drywall work as required (e.g., preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).

  • Assists in development and review of departmental procedures and SOP's. Assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans for departmental NCR's.

  • Documents departmental PM's by following SOP procedures for equipment and facility related items per GMP standards aligning to medical device manufacturing.

  • Relocates and installs various items ranging from equipment to office contents. Familiar using various hand, power, and specialty tools, including dollies and hand trucks.

  • Participates in maintaining various interior and exterior areas ensuring a safe and clean work environment, including seasonal exterior support events.

  • As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime.

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

This position may require local travel as needed, less than 5%.
