    Job Summary

    The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Facilities Maintenance Department. This hands-on role handles various routine service requests and may also have administrative duties, such as documenting work orders. This role reports directly to the Director of Facilities Maintenance and plays a key part in maintaining the Club’s buildings, amenities, and grounds at the highest standards.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs across all club facilities, including the clubhouse, pool & fitness pavilion, racquet facilities, locker rooms, kitchens, and administrative spaces
    • Support basic plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, carpentry, and general repair tasks
    • Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and operational needs
    • Assist with event setup and breakdown (tables, chairs, staging, etc.) as needed
    • Keep tools and equipment clean, organized and in good condition
    • Notify management when parts orders are needed for repairs
    • Conduct building and equipment inspections to identify issues
    • Update work orders, writing notes about services performed and closing requests upon completion
    • Adhere to workplace health and safety standards
    • Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in mechanical rooms, storage areas, and workspaces
    • Support inspections, vendor visits, and small projects under the direction of the Facilities Director
    • Follow all club safety policies, procedures, and uniform standards
    • Maintain awareness of hazards and report concerns promptly
    • Represent the Club professionally in all interactions with members, guests, and staff

    Minimum Qualifications & Experience

    • Prior experience in general maintenance, facilities support, construction, or a related field is preferred
    • Prior experience in pool maintenance and operations
    • Basic working knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance practices
    • Experience with a maintenance management system preferred
    • Knowledge of the correct procedures for performing routine repairs and service on structures and building systems, such as electrical wiring, HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing fixtures and septic and sewage systems

    Critical Skills

    • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior facilities staff
    • Ability to use common tools and equipment, such as adjustable or Allen wrenches, caulking guns, cordless drills and electrical multimeters
    • Ability to move heavy objects and to access hard-to-reach areas, such as crawlspaces and service shafts
    • Understanding of maintenance safety standards and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety goggles and work gloves
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
    • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
    • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
    • Positive attitude and commitment to service excellence

    Schedule Requirements 

    • Flexible scheduling based on the operational needs of the Club
    • While this role offers flexibility, availability on weekends and holidays is expected on a rotating basis to support Club operations

    Training 

    • This role includes hands-on shadowing and mentorship with the Director of Facilities Maintenance to ensure success and skill development

    Travel Required 

    • Less than 10%

    • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
    • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
    • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration
    • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
    • Frequent repetitive motions
    • Continuous standing and walking
