As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll protect product quality and throughput by repairing and improving equipment and facilities in line with our standards and USDA regulations. You’ll use tools ranging from wrenches to PLC interfaces—and safely operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, and boom lift—to keep production moving.

  • Compensation: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour depending on experience

Your Mission

Increase uptime, extend asset life, and maintain a safe, efficient plant. You’ll execute corrective and preventive maintenance, document your work, and collaborate with peers to elevate reliability across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a full spectrum of building and equipment repairs; partner with a skilled tech for major work.
  • Run scheduled PMs: inspect belts and fluids, swap filters, grease bearings/seals, and replace worn components.
  • Calibrate and service pneumatic systems.
  • Complete facility upkeep: windows, door hardware/locks, closets, and blind installations.
  • Document daily/weekly/monthly maintenance activities and maintain PM records.
  • Monitor and control utilities/mechanical systems via computer as needed.
  • Install electrical services/wiring during remodels; repair or replace wiring.
  • Repair electrical equipment and control circuits, replace faulty switches, and troubleshoot refrigeration.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and emergency work orders.
  • Support building renovations, including plaster/drywall repair and painting.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED; or one year of related experience/training.
  • Minimum one year of forklift experience.
  • Background in building/mechanical maintenance and repair, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Competence with hand and power tools.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Foundational capability in welding, plumbing, electrical, control circuits, PLCs, pneumatics, software, hydraulics, carpentry, motors, pumps, and utility equipment.
  • High attention to detail with strong communication and follow-up.
  • Read and write simple instructions/correspondence; communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
  • Math skills: whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute rate/ratio/percent; interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of production facility operations; organized and able to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Accurate counting; comfortable working across temperature ranges.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving; familiarity with GMPs and HACCP.
  • Available for early hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed (not guaranteed).
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred; must be able to read and write English.
  • Computer skills preferred for maintenance roles.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the entire shift (8–12 hours); no sitting.
  • Frequently lift/carry 1–100 lbs.; some tasks may exceed 100 lbs. using both arms.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.; frequent bending.
  • Frequent kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequent reaching/handling for items on shelves, pallets, and forklift forks; boxes vary in size/weight.
  • Occasional climbing (trucks, racks, pallets).
  • Frequent equipment driving (forklift, pallet jack).

Work Environment

Expect frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts. You may occasionally encounter wet/humid areas, cold environments, heights, fumes/airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, outdoor conditions, electrical shock risk, and vibration. Noise levels range from moderate to occasionally loud.
