Ben Franklin Transit

BFT has been successful in building a great transit system for the Kennewick, Richland, Pasco, West Richland, Prosser, and Benton City, and Franklin and Benton Counties. It is our goal to develop and operate a public transportation system that will provide the best transportation services to our customers as possible. We are proud to offer many innovative ways for you to use our services today.

We have regular routed and scheduled transit, Dial-A-Ride, Vanpool, ridesharing, taxi feeder service, TransPlus night service, Demand Response service in Prosser, Benton City, and Finley, and many other services to tell you about. Please take the time to explore our site and the wonderful mobility alternatives we have to offer you.

Please notice that our site is linked to several other local agencies and organizations to provide interactive access to even more information and services.

Ben Franklin Transit has had several achievements over the last few years. We led the way as a prime sponsor of a first ever community-wide forum on Smart Growth and Livable Communities in November of 2004. That year we were also recognized as one of the “Most Improved Transit Systems in the United States” by Metro Magazine, a leading transit trade journal. In 2006 we received the City of Richland’s “Green Business of the Year” award and in 2007 we received the Governor’s Award for Pollution Prevention and Sustainability. Our ridership continues to grow as more and more people discover the ease and comfort of using our services. In 2008, we set all-time ridership records with just over 5.5 million passenger boardings.

We are very proud of all of our accomplishments; but we do not intend to rest on those. We intend to continue to make Ben Franklin Transit as efficient and effective as we can. Again, thank you for your interest in Ben Franklin Transit. We hope the information contained here will help you get the most out of our wonderful area.
