    Overview

    FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (EDOS-2026-25875):

    Bowhead is seeking a Facilities Operations Specialist to work with other team members engaged in facility maintenance and property management functions, including monitoring painting projects, structural repairs, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings. The ideal candidate will monitor buildings for breakdowns of utility systems, such as electrical wiring and controls, heating and ventilating systems. Additional responsibilities to include operation and maintenance of waterworks system, and ensures adequate water supply for human consumption, industrial, or agricultural use.  Set up, operate, and monitor devices for acquisition and analysis of data. Will install, service, and repair mechanical equipment. Candidate will requisition tools, equipment, and supplies and perform inspections of completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.

    Responsibilities

    Essential functions will include: 

    • The Facilities Operations Specialist will inspect properties and schedule routine or preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
    • Will work with the NNWCDD Safety office and Department safety manager to perform occupational safety and health inspections off all assigned building.
    • The Facilities Operations Specialist will develop logistics plans for distribution of goods and supplies and will identify, prioritize, and assess assets and infrastructures.
    • Maintain an active status tracking spreadsheet on all projects and repairs utilizing SharePoint and Teams
    • Will conduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times.
    • Maintain a general inventory of over 5,300 assets throughout multiple buildings within the Department.
    • Navigate ERP database to complete1149 and warehouse movement forums.
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    • One to three (1-3) years combined experience in military logistics, procurement and / or Warehouse operations.
    • Demonstrated experience with Government facilities management, maintaining database systems, and with logistics operations.
    • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint
    • Requires the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
    • Knowledge in building maintenance and sustainment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
    • Knowledge of DRMO process, General Equipment Inventory, warehouse processing (OM&S) – these are a bit Dahlgren specific and can be learned.
    • Drivers license required with clean driving record

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
    • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
