Position Summary
The Facilities Manager provides day-to-day leadership for campus facilities operations, supervising facilities technicians, coordinating work orders, supporting events, ensuring preventive maintenance, and helping maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming campus. This role oversees both routine maintenance duties reflected in the Campus Facilities Tech 1 role and advanced technical/project leadership duties reflected in the Facilities Technician 3 role.

Key Responsibilities
Facilities Leadership & Supervision
Supervise, coach, schedule, and support facilities technicians.
Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders across campus.
Provide oversight to temporary staff, contracted labor, and vendor work.
Train team members on safety procedures, equipment use, maintenance standards, and campus expectations.
Communicate staffing, project, and operational needs to the Director of Facilities.
Models a servant-leadership approach by working alongside team members to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming campus environment.
Maintenance Operations
Performs routine maintenance, repairs, and campus improvement projects across facilities, grounds, and equipment, serving as a working member of the facilities team.
Assists with custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks during peak workloads, special projects, and campus events.
Oversee routine and advanced building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, mechanical systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Inspect buildings, grounds, playgrounds, and campus systems to identify needed repairs.
Coordinate specialized service when issues require outside vendors or advanced trade support.
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with school policies and applicable standards.
Work Order & Preventive Maintenance Management
Completes and oversees facilities work orders, performing maintenance and repair tasks personally while prioritizing and assigning work to ensure timely completion.
Responds directly to campus maintenance requests and actively participates in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
Develop, maintain, and improve preventive maintenance schedules.
Track repairs, inspections, recurring issues, and vendor service records.
Recommend improvements to campus systems, processes, and facilities operations.
Campus Operations & Event Support
Leads and actively participates in the setup and breakdown of school events, activities, and campus functions, ensuring spaces are prepared safely, efficiently, and to school standards.
Performs hands-on event support, including moving furniture, equipment, and materials as needed.
Ensure campus spaces are prepared, safe, clean, and functional for daily use.
Support security-related facilities needs, including opening and closing buildings and gates.
Respond to urgent facilities needs, spills, leaks, and safety concerns.
Safety, Security & Compliance
Promote a safe working environment for the facilities team and campus community.
Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, chemicals, PPE, and safety protocols.
Support emergency procedures and after-hours needs as directed.
Report significant safety, maintenance, or security concerns promptly.

Required Experience:
Working Conditions & Schedule
Typical schedule is Monday-Friday during standard business hours; however, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional after-hours work may be required for events, emergencies, or campus needs. Work occurs indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and may involve lifting, climbing, bending, standing, walking, noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and other common facility conditions.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of facilities, maintenance, construction, operations, or related trade experience.
Prior supervisory, team lead, or project management experience required.
Strong working knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC fundamentals, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
Ability to manage work orders, prioritize competing needs, and lead a team effectively.
Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs. and perform physical work indoors and outdoors.
Valid Texas Driver’s License and ability to operate cars, trucks, and non-commercial vans.
Proficiency with email, basic reporting tools, and facilities/work order software.
