    Description

Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company on a mission to reliably and repeatedly launch, land, and operate space systems from Earth to the Moon and beyond. As the partner of choice for critical space missions, Firefly is the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with 24-hour notice and the first company to achieve a successful Moon landing. Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space.

As a Facilities Manager you will own the day-to-day facilities operations for the Cedar Park site while establishing operating standards that will scale to other locations. The Cedar Park site consists of a 50/50 employee split of in-house staff and outsourced services. The Facilities Manager must be equally credible supervising technicians and holding vendors to contract. Significant emphasis for this role is on building repeatable programs and process discipline, not simply sustaining the current operation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own site operations: building systems, maintenance, janitorial, grounds, life safety, and workplace services.
    • Lead and develop the in-house team; set performance expectations, schedules, coverage, and training plans.
    • Manage outsourced service providers against scope, SLA, and budget; run scorecards and quarterly business reviews.
    • Build and document repeatable operating procedures — preventive maintenance schedules, work order intake and triage, escalation paths, and after-hours response.
    • Own the site operating budget; forecast, track variance, and identify cost reduction without service degradation.
    • Establish and report site-level service metrics including work order completion, response time, PM compliance, and customer satisfaction.
    • Partner with EHS on compliance, inspections, permits, and audit readiness.
    • Support capital and construction projects at the site as the operations stakeholder.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 8+ years in facilities operations, including 3+ years managing people.
    • Demonstrated experience managing both in-house staff and third-party service contracts.
    • Working knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, controls, and life safety.
    • Experience with CMMS platforms and using work order data to drive operational decisions.
    • Budget ownership experience at the site or portfolio level.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, military service, technical training, certifications, and progressively responsible facilities management experience will also be considered.
    • Experience in both corporate campus and manufacturing/industrial environments.
    • Track record standing up or overhauling a preventive maintenance program.
