Facilities Manager

Location: Highgate Springs, VT
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually

Position Overview

The Facilities Manager will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of multiple commercial facilities. This role is responsible for leading facility operations teams, managing maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and vendors.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing large-scale facilities operations, with a strong background in mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, vendor management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations and maintenance activities across multiple facilities, ensuring consistent service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop facilities staff, including assistant managers, skilled trades, custodial teams, administrative personnel, and support staff.
  • Train, evaluate, and provide guidance to team members to promote strong performance and accountability.
  • Manage building systems, equipment, and infrastructure, including commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs while identifying opportunities for predictive maintenance improvements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service agreements, and evaluate new vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Oversee purchasing and inventory management for maintenance supplies, equipment parts, and repair materials.
  • Conduct facility inspections and identify repair, replacement, and improvement needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure proper use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Partner with customers and stakeholders through regular communication, reporting, and operational updates.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and building automation systems to improve facility management processes.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through responsive service and effective problem resolution.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of recent experience managing and supervising commercial building maintenance and facilities operations.
  • Experience overseeing multiple large facilities or complex commercial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical maintenance, and facility operations.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage teams, prioritize competing demands, and drive operational excellence.
