Join Our Team as a Facilities ManagerAre you an experienced facilities professional who enjoys leading people, managing complex projects, and balancing day-to-day maintenance with long-term capital planning and asset management?Bring your experience to the City of Johns Creek as a Facilities Manager to lead the operation, maintenance, and improvement of City-owned facilities while working collaboratively with staff, contractors, vendors, and community partners to keep City facilities safe, functional, and responsive to the needs of the City and the community.What You'll DoFacility Operations & Maintenance: Plan and oversee operations, preventative maintenance programs, routine repairs, and facility inspections of City-owned buildings and facilities.Team Leadership: Lead and support assigned staff while coordinating daily priorities, schedules, and facility services. Project & Contract Management: Oversee building renovations, equipment replacements, and capital improvement projects from planning and procurement through completion, including developing scopes of work, specifications, and requests for proposals and directing external contractors, vendors, and service providers.Budget & Asset Management: Develop and manage operating and capital budgets while supporting long-term plans for facility maintenance and asset replacement.Interdepartmental Collaboration: Partner with City departments and Risk Management to address facility needs, maintain regulatory compliance and safety standards, document property liability claims, and provide responsive City Hall and facility support services.Skills You'll NeedFacility Systems & Maintenance: Experience managing the maintenance and operation of commercial, institutional, governmental, or other multi-building facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, fire and life safety systems, and general building maintenance. Leadership & Supervision: Strong leadership skills with experience supervising employees and directing contractors, vendors, and service providers. Project & Capital Planning: Experience planning and managing facility maintenance, repair, renovation, and capital improvement projects, including schedules, budgets, and quality of work. Maintenance Systems: Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Procurement & Contracts: Experience developing scopes of work, specifications, cost estimates, procurement documents, and administering contracts for facility-related services. Operations & Administration: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing operating and capital budgets, maintaining accurate records, and adapting to changing priorities.What You Bring/Your QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a related field; orMinimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related fieldOr an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.Preferred Qualifications:Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible facilities management experience in local government, public sector, commercial, institutional, or other complex multi-facility environments.Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other relevant professional certification.Experience managing diverse facilities, including condition assessments, asset management, lifecycle planning, long-term maintenance and capital replacement programs, and major renovations or building system replacements.Experience with public-sector purchasing, competitive bidding, RFPs, contract administration, capital project delivery, and the maintenance of natural and synthetic turf athletic fields.Licenses or Certifications:Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.OSHA safety training/certification or other relevant building, construction, or occupational safety certification preferred.Competitive Salary and Benefits PackageThe City of Johns Creek offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
