Facilities Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities maintenance, custodial, and grounds services within the Housing and Residence Life (HRL) building portfolio. This roleincludes managing the HRL fleet vehicles and ensuring that all facilities operations meet quality standards and are efficiently managed.

This role involves regular interaction with students, parents, and various stakeholders, requiring a high level of professionalism and empathy. The Facilities Operations Manager will work closely with the facilities management team to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage and coordinate with Facilities Management on maintenance, custodial, and grounds services to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of HRL fleet vehicles.
  • Quality Assurance: Regularly meet with the Housing Zone Manager from Facilities Management to ensure quality standards are met and outstanding issues are resolved.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Distribute communications to appropriate stakeholders regarding facilities operations and issues.
  • Direct Communication: Communicate directly with students and/or parents to address and resolve facilities issues.
  • Soft Skills Utilization: Employ strong communication skills, both written and oral, and demonstrate soft skills such as active listening, empathy, problem-solving, and adaptability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: Two years of relevant experience. An additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree for a total of six years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure/Certifications: None
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience in property management or a similar role.
  • Training in conflict resolution or mediation.
  • Strong facilities and building systems knowledge.
Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.

Salary Range
  • The anticipated hiring range is $80,000-$90,000, commensurate with education and experience.
