Job Title: Facilities Operations Specialist 

Reports to: Facilities Manager 

Location: Multi-Location 

Job Classification: Full-time 

FLSA: Non-Exempt 

Salary Range: $28.00- $30.00 


Position Summary 

The Facilities Operations Specialist is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility support services across multiple agency locations. This position works collaboratively with program staff, vendors, and management to maintain high-quality environments that promote the health, safety, and well-being of the people we support and our employees. As a Facilities Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our residential homes, day programs, administrative offices, and community locations remain safe, functional, and compliant with all regulatory standards. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Complete preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general building repairs. 
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers. 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, OSHA standards, fire safety requirements, and agency policies. 
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including severe weather response and facility emergencies. 
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory. 
  • Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and facility setup for meetings and events.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, as required. 


Qualifications Required 

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Minimum of two years of building maintenance or facilities experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including climbing ladders and working indoors and outdoors.


Preferred 

  • Experience working in healthcare, nonprofit, residential, or human services settings.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD, OSHA, and life safety regulations. 
  • Trade certification or vocational training is a plus.
