What to Expect

As a Tesla Gigafactory Operator, you will have the opportunity to operate and develop one of the largest and most sophisticated operating manufacturing facilities in the world. You will have the opportunity to assist in driving towards world-class energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact through smart, ingenious operational philosophies and unprecedented operational flexibility. Tesla operators will work closely with system experts to continuously develop and improve state-of-the-art systems that will help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

What You'll Do

  • Operate and monitor HVAC, hydronic, compressed air, electrical, chemical refining, and delivery systems
  • Start, stop, and maintain equipment using control software, troubleshooting deviations from normal parameters
  • Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, and routine operator rounds, collaborating with teammates and engineers
  • Ensure safety compliance in hazardous environments; utilize control systems to monitor equipment and verify trends
  • Work from schematics, plans, and instructions, implementing standard practices and adhering to 5S practices
  • Champion safety policies during tasks, aiming to improve equipment reliability and system performance
  • Required to work with hazardous materials, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols

What You'll Bring

  • Must understand basic mechanical and electrical systems; experience in chemical handling and electrical distribution is desired
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 10+ hours, lift 20 lbs. multiple times per day, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces and loud environments
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials; wear a full-face air-purifying respirator as needed for specific tasks and ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and adapt to constant change
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Open to flexible schedules, including days, nights, or weekends, with safety-conscious work practices and adherence to prescribed guidelines
