    Facilities Technician:

    Job Summary:

    The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing repairs, routine preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of equipment and facilities at store and office locations. This includes maintaining site appearance, ensuring proper operation of machinery, and supporting special projects. The role requires the use of various hand and power tools and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities to uphold manufacturer specifications and site appearance.
    • Diagnose, dismantle, and repair malfunctioning equipment and replace defective parts.
    • Assist with installation and setup of new equipment for special projects.
    • Inspect and test equipment to identify and resolve malfunctions.
    • Maintain appropriate levels of parts and supplies for repairs and maintenance.
    • Perform basic structural repairs such as painting, roofing, window, door, and floor maintenance.
    • Record and report maintenance and repair work, including labor and parts costs, through service work orders (SWOs).
    • Accurately complete inventory transfer forms.
    • Support the Service Supervisor in managing costs and maintenance efficiency.
    • Conduct routine cleaning and sanitization of facility interiors and exteriors.
    • Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
    • Oversee waste disposal and recycling processes to maintain a clean and environmentally responsible site.
    • Follow and promote safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and tools.
    • Collaborate on cleaning schedules and ensure consistent maintenance of high standards.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
    • Ability to drive a service vehicle safely.
    • Proficient with hand and power tools (e.g., drills, hammers, saws, wrenches).
    • Basic knowledge of equipment diagnostics and repairs.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with store staff, management, and customers.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
    • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
    • Ability to read and understand operating manuals and written instructions.
    • Competent in writing basic reports and maintenance logs.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, on-call shifts, and holidays.
    • Ability to understand and follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
    • Forklift and pallet jack operation (with training).
    • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.

    Work Environment/Physical Demand:

    The work environmental characteristics and the physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.     The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions and approximately 50% of the work is performed outside. The employee will regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, bend, twist and climb the ladder and work at heights of above eight (8) feet. The employee will handle liquids, plastic, glass, paper, rubber, cleaning solvents, paints, grout, ceramic tile, and various types of ceiling tile, and other parts of the building structure material. In performing the job, the employee will follow all safety policies and procedures.

    This role is vital for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of Terrible's facilities, requiring a proactive and skilled technician to ensure high standards of performance and customer satisfaction.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    May require some short and long-distance travel.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required to read and interpret documents, instructions, and manuals, as well as to communicate effectively.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    The ability to apply logical thinking to execute instructions and resolve problems is crucial.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Applicants must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The role requires regular standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. The incumbent must also be able to perform duties in varying work conditions, such as confined spaces.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the role may occasionally require exposure to an environment containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
