Job Title: Facilities Project Engineer

Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to report directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader. The role is integral in providing engineering services that align with the location"s business plan, supporting production, maintenance, and administrative departments to achieve plant goals.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes for manufacturing and facility maintenance.
  • Manage capital and expense projects by developing scopes and budgets, ensuring quality communication, adhering to completion schedules, and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Specify new production equipment or modify existing equipment.
  • Develop functional specifications and work with suppliers and contractors for procurement and implementation of equipment.
  • Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure they meet contract specifications.
  • Provide maintenance engineering and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Generate contract scope of work documents and cost estimates.
  • Oversee contractor work and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
  • Act as the single point accountable person for EHS policies, complying with all Company, Federal, and State EHS policies.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in process improvement.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor design software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Experience with lean six sigma and six sigma methodologies.
  • Bachelor"s degree in Engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, etc.).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Experience with facilities maintenance and mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of facility infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with investment casting.
  • Ability to multitask and rapidly grasp new concepts and processes.

Work Environment

The position requires on-site presence from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, involving both office and manufacturing floor settings. The environment encourages project management from conception to completion, with opportunities for growth and cross-departmental movement.
