Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual''s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Operations
Creates and maintains a safe, professional, and service-oriented environment that enhances the guest experience and promotes employee engagement. Supervises Facilities team members during assigned shifts, providing coaching, training, performance feedback, and development opportunities. Directs and coordinates daily maintenance, repair, and operational activities to ensure facility systems remain fully functional and available. Prioritizes work assignments and allocates labor resources to effectively respond to operational needs, emergencies, and guest service requests. Maintains operational readiness of all critical building systems and ensures timely resolution of maintenance issues. Serves as the primary Facilities leader during assigned shifts and acts as incident commander for facility-related emergencies.
Central Plant Operations
Oversees the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the property''s Central Utility Plant, including:
Reviews operating parameters, analyzes performance trends, and initiates corrective actions to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency. Monitors Building Automation System (BAS) performance and coordinates adjustments to maintain occupant comfort and optimize energy consumption. Provides technical leadership during utility interruptions, mechanical failures, and emergency events affecting facility operations. Ensures proper startup, shutdown, isolation, and restoration procedures are followed for central plant equipment and utility systems. Coordinates preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for central plant assets. Oversees chemical treatment programs and water quality management for cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and related systems. Maintains accurate operational logs, performance records, and regulatory documentation for central plant equipment.
Safety & Compliance
Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA, environmental, fire/life safety, boiler, refrigeration, water treatment, and energy management regulations. Conducts routine inspections of facility systems and identifies potential safety hazards or operational deficiencies. Supports emergency preparedness initiatives and participates in property emergency response planning. Ensures team members and contractors follow established safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company policies. Assists with compliance reporting and documentation required by regulatory agencies.
Asset Management & Planning
Participates in facility improvement projects, renovations, and capital planning initiatives. Coordinates vendor and contractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established standards. Assists with budget management by monitoring labor, materials, utility consumption, and contractor expenditures. Identifies opportunities to improve facility reliability, reduce operating costs, and enhance energy efficiency. Supports long-term asset preservation through lifecycle planning and equipment replacement recommendations.
WORKING CONDITIONS / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered.
