Job Purpose:
- The Facilities Specialist III works under general supervision and performs a variety of duties at the journey level to maintain and repair buildings, structures, and their attendant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops sound working relationships with all program staff to enhance the likelihood of effective outcomes for the Center.
- Duties include carpentry, painting, locksmith, plumbing, electrical, control systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and related work as required.
- Depending upon need, duties of incumbents in this classification may emphasize a particular trade associated with building maintenance and repair.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor in coordination of work, requisitioning of supplies and inspection of work performed.
- Performs rough and finish maintenance carpentry and plastering on commercial, public and residential buildings.
- The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
Required Education:
- High School diploma required
- Trade school training preferred
Required Experience:
- Minimum 8 years related experience with comprehensive knowledge of maintenance
- Must be proficient in all necessary trades to accomplish all assigned tasks, to include but not limited to electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry, HV/AC and painting
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using facilities management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement facility management policies and procedures.
Required Driving:
- Must be Over the age of 21 required
- Minimum of 5-years driving experience required
- Possess a Valid FL Driver's license
- Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required
- Safe driving record required
