What's your day like?

As the Facilities Supervisor, you’ll be at the helm of ensuring that our agency-owned facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all Head Start Performance Standards and relevant regulations. You’ll oversee buildings and grounds across our Head Start locations, making sure that every physical environment meets Head Start regulations and related local, state and federal requirements. Your leadership will be essential in overseeing repairs of all agency-owned sites, contributing to a safe atmosphere for the children and families we serve. 

Requirements for this Facilities Supervisor job

To excel as the Facilities Supervisor, a blend of education and experience is essential. A two-year college degree in a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in facilities ideally within an educational setting. A strong understanding of OSHA, ADA compliance, fire safety, and local building codes is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our children.

Exceptional communication, organization, and project management skills will be necessary for managing priorities and coordinating across multiple sites. Strong leadership and customer service aptitude will help foster a supportive environment for your team, while robust computer skills will aid in using various software and tools essential for effective facilities management.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • A 2-year college degree in a related field of study, preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in facilities experience in an educational setting, preferred
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, ADA, fire safety, and local building codes
  • Excellent communication, organization, project management, leadership and customer service skills
  • Ability of manage priorities and travel across sites
  • Strong computer skills
