Facilities Manager

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Facilities division at multiple locations. The Manager is responsible for the compliance of regulation and standards for regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, OSHA, AHCA and NFPA. The Manager organizes and directs the team on fulfilling department and hospital goals, oversight of operating and capital budgets, and ensures facility work orders and preventative maintenance services are completed successfully. Along with Safety Officer, ensures that all safety, life safety, and environment of care measures are adhered to. Also assists the construction team in safe and timely implementation of projects. Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager certification is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engagement: Assist associates with orientation to organization and department policies and procedures. Engage with associates to foster open communication, hold weekly huddles and regular department meetings. Acts as a change agent, positively communicating best practices to associates and in collaborative partnerships. Utilize the Engagement Survey feedback and action plan to create a culture that fosters highly engaged associates. Create and maintain goals and ensure the display boards are updated in a timely manner. Perform associate evaluations following process and timelines set by HR, soliciting input from facilities and construction leadership. Manage and develop potential leaders, advancing skill sets of associates. Support cross-functional teams to accomplish projects and tasks.
  • Quality/No Harm: Develops and maintains records of all mechanical equipment and schedules periodic maintenance of this equipment. Coordinates with Clinical and Infection Control teams to minimize disruption in patient care delivery and hospital work flows. Assists construction team with construction activities which supports a safe and healthy work environment. Oversees compliance with Joint Commission, AHCA, NFPA, OSHA, and all other regulatory agency requirements, ensures testing and inspections for all these agencies are accomplished in the appropriate timeline, and participates in regulatory agency surveys and inspections. Ensures all Life Safety and Environment of Care measures are adhered to. Ensures the proper response to and manages emergency situations including disaster response, power / other utilities loss, floods, etc.
  • Customer Experience: Schedules, coordinates and oversees work orders and preventative maintenance programs and ensures they are completed and documented within appropriate timeframes. Manages and oversees all processes related to vendor contracting, development of service scopes by project, RFP documents and other vendor proposals.
  • Stewardship: Monitors and controls team member productivity to ensure effective use of personnel resources within approved financial resources. Assists Director in preparing quarterly forecast, reviews monthly operating reports and evaluates variances, and ensures all invoices are paid on a timely basis. Obtains bids for contract work pertaining to maintenance or new installations and ensures proper installation services or products in a timely and correct manner. Actively monitors energy usage and coordinates activities to reduce consumption. Assists Director with developing and implementing long range plans for maintenance and facilities.

Qualifications Required: High School or Equivalent Required; Bachelors Preferred. 7 years Leadership experience required. 10 years Related Field experience required.
