GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for supervising a team of union Class A service workers and janitorial staff, ensuring all cleaning, grounds, and exterior maintenance needs are managed at the Central Service Complex, off-site properties, fixtures, and all rented or leased locations. Oversees and contributes to the implementation of the Emergency Snow and Ice Plan, coordinates cleaning and grounds contractors, manages facilities service operations, and performs all other duties assigned by the Senior Director of Facilities Maintenance or KCATA Officer.
Ensures safety and quality standards and compliance across all service operations. Key responsibilities include being accountable for budget performance, managing work productivity, tracking cleaning and maintenance schedules, overseeing building and grounds cleanliness, and collaborating with other departments and contractors.

c. Coordinates and collaborates with other departments, vendors, and contractors on shelter cleaning, groundskeeping, janitorial, and other service projects. Provides ongoing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure team skill development and operational excellence
Cleaning and Grounds Operation:
Oversees the proper execution of all interior cleaning, janitorial, and non-mechanical building maintenance activities. Develops and manages cleaning and grounds schedules, coordinates bus shelter maintenance and exterior painting, and addresses urgent facility needs promptly.
Tracks cleaning assignments, grounds maintenance schedules, and inspection due dates using spreadsheets or management software, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
Coordinates event set-up, oversees personnel and fulfills any additional requests during the event.
Projects: (Capital or Operational)
Coordinates and oversees large and smaller-scale construction or renovation projects.
Safety and compliance:
Conducts safety inspections and training, and ensures the facility's compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Operational oversight:
Collects and enters assigned department payroll, manage payroll, inventory, and supplies, and oversee waste management and facility cleanliness.
Ensures the facility is well-maintained with staff hours entered correctly.
Budget and records:
Prepares and manage facility management budgets. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, projects, and expenditures.
Monitors departmental performance using KPls such as project completion, budget adherence, and compliance metrics.
Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
