Title: Maintenance Technician

Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, reliability, and operation of utility systems, chillers, boilers, waste management systems, and manufacturing support equipment. Reporting to a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, or Lead, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance while supporting manufacturing operations in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility systems, aseptic formulation/filling equipment, packaging equipment, autoclaves, parts washers, and other GMP and non-GMP systems.
  • Ensure equipment remains compliant with GMP requirements by working closely with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and optimize equipment to minimize downtime and maximize system reliability.
  • Maintain inventory recommendations for equipment spare parts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives within the maintenance program.
  • Respond to equipment and facility alarms for assigned systems and areas.
  • Execute maintenance activities with minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Support contract service providers and assist contractors performing maintenance work.
  • Assist with the startup, commissioning, and turnover of new equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and cross-functional teams to support operational goals.

Required skills

  • High school diploma with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience, or an associate degree in a relevant technical discipline with no prior experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance disciplines; experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude for maintaining and repairing utility equipment.
  • Experience responding to equipment and facility alarms.
  • Exposure to control systems such as PLCs, automation systems, or similar industrial control technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize daily maintenance activities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and management levels.

Preferred skills

  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting aseptic manufacturing, packaging, or utility systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability programs.
  • Experience supporting equipment commissioning, startup, and validation activities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team.
