Summary:
Reporting to a Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of production, process, refrigeration, HVAC, and/or site utility equipment (GMP & non-GMP). The role involves being a key shop floor contributor, providing independent support and execution of maintenance tasks.
 
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Utilities Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure work activities are compliant with GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on Clean and Dirty equipment that provide uninterrupted Utilities for the site.
  • Develop efficient maintenance job plans, procedures, and work instructions for site equipment.
  • Recommend spare parts and preventive maintenance procedures to optimize equipment reliability.
  • Route documentation for spare parts requests and work order submissions.
  • Assist other departments in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and optimizing equipment performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the site’s Maintenance Program.
  • Respond promptly to facility alarms and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Oversee contract service providers and support contractors during maintenance execution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with tools and software such as CMMS (SAP) Client, Client, Pi, and PLCs.
 
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with 5 years’ relevant GMP/industry experience OR an Associate degree with 4 years’ relevant GMP/industry experience OR equivalent.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of maintenance disciplines within a cGMP Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DCS, PLC, and/or Building Automation Systems (Client) control systems.
  • Proven knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving and troubleshooting systems in a pharmaceutical environment required.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills (written and oral) are required to interface across management levels and departments.
 
Skills
  • Working knowledge of the process for fermentation, purification, utilities, and formulation preferred.
 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $38.00 - $44.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
