Apply for the Facilities Support Specialist Position

Wisconsin and Illinois | Travel Required | Part-Time

We're a Wisconsin and Illinois law firm with offices across multiple locations - and we're growing. We're looking for a seasoned, self-directed professional to be our boots-on-the-ground resource across all sites. If you're someone who has spent a career getting things done - fixing what's broken, managing vendor relationships, negotiating leases, and keeping facilities running - and you're ready to do meaningful work on a flexible schedule, this role was built for you.

You'll travel regularly between our hubs (Fox Valley, Milwaukee, Illinois, Madison, and new upcoming locations), serving as the primary facilities resource across the firm. This is a high-trust, low-micromanagement role. You'll work closely with our CFO and coordinate with our IT and operations teams.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay Rate: $30/hr, based on experience
  • Schedule: 20-30 hours per week, flexible - structured around site visit needs and your availability
  • Benefits: This is a part-time position and is not benefits-eligible
  • Mileage: Reimbursed per firm policy for all required travel between sites

Experience:

  • Preferred: We're especially interested in experienced professionals who are winding down a full career and looking for a meaningful, flexible role - someone who wants to stay active and engaged without the demands of a full-time position. If you have years of facilities, property, or operations experience and you're ready to put that knowledge to work on your own terms, we'd love to talk.
  • Nice to have:
  • Background in professional services environments (law firm, financial, consulting, etc.)
  • Familiarity with facilities management software or lease tracking tools
  • Experience coordinating across multiple sites or regions

Work Schedule:

20-30 hrs/week, flexible

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facility Repairs & Maintenance

  • Perform hands-on repairs and minor renovation work at all firm locations

  • Assess facility condition during site visits and address maintenance issues proactively

  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors, ensuring work is completed on time and on budget

  • Be the firm's go-to resource when something breaks or needs to get done

  • Lease & Contract Management

  • Negotiate and manage commercial lease agreements and renewals across all locations

  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts, keeping terms favorable to the firm

  • Track key dates, lease terms, and renewal windows; flag issues before they become problems

  • Support planning for new and upcoming facility locations

  • Travel & Multi-Site Coordination

  • Travel regularly between firm locations in the Fox Valley, Milwaukee, Illinois, and Madison areas

  • Conduct routine site visits to assess needs, complete tasks, and meet with local contacts

  • Serve as the consistent presence across sites in the absence of on-site staff

  • IT Coordination (Supporting Role)

  • Handle basic technology issues: printer troubleshooting, connectivity, hardware setup

  • Serve as the on-site hands for IT needs, coordinating with our internal IT contacts for escalation

  • No deep technical expertise required - just comfort with everyday office technology
