Description
Job Overview:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing specialized, technical maintenance and repairs across building systems and equipment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facility infrastructure, handling complex tasks that require skill, training, and troubleshooting expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Systems Maintenance: Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Specialized Equipment Repair: Maintain and repair critical facility equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, generators, and kitchen or industrial appliances.
System Diagnostics: Identify root causes of system failures and perform repairs to restore functionality efficiently.
Support PM Programs: Assist and guide PM Technicians when tasks require more technical expertise or complex intervention.
Safety & Compliance: Follow company and regulatory safety protocols; ensure equipment and tools are maintained properly.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Emergency Response: Respond to urgent facility issues requiring technical expertise.
Other Duties: Assist with special projects or other technical tasks as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade experience preferred (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
2+ years of experience in technical maintenance or facilities management.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Valid Driver's License and clean driving history
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
Ability to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot complex systems and equipment.
Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical tasks efficiently.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and potentially hazardous materials.
Physical activity may include lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
May require on-call availability for emergency repairs.
