Today

Total Primary Care is seeking a hands-on, resourceful Facilities Technician to keep our clinic locations safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role handles routine maintenance, minor repairs, basic IT setup, and end-to-end management of facilities service tickets across our sites. The ideal candidate is self-directed, cost-conscious, and able to independently own and prioritize their own ticket pipeline while resolving the majority of issues in house rather than defaulting to outside vendors or replacements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance requests efficiently and on budget, balancing cost, speed, and quality of repair
  • Act as the first line of response for facilities issues, resolving problems in house whenever possible
  • Be resourceful and repair-first in approach (e.g., fixing a wobbly or broken chair rather than replacing it) to minimize unnecessary spend
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including regular air filter changes
  • Replace and repair lighting, including light fixtures, bulbs, and ballasts
  • Coordinate and address pest control needs, working with third-party vendors as required
  • Receive, assemble, and install replacement furniture
  • Address minor plumbing issues (e.g., clogs, leaks, running toilets, fixture adjustments)
  • Repair or replace broken fixtures throughout the clinic and close out related work tickets
  • Handle basic electrical tasks such as replacing outlets, switches, and faceplates
  • Patch and repair minor drywall, ceiling tiles, and wall damage
  • Handle basic IT setup and equipment swaps, such as replacing broken TVs or monitors
  • Perform touch-up and full painting as needed (painting experience preferred)
  • Hang and mount items such as shelving, whiteboards, signage, and wall-mounted equipment
  • Address general repairs to doors, locks, hinges, blinds, and hardware
  • Respond to miscellaneous facilities requests and coordinate with outside vendors (HVAC, electrical, specialty trades) only when work is genuinely beyond scope
  • Manage and be responsible for your own ticket pipeline: intake, prioritization, resolution, and timely close-out
  • Document completed work and communicate status updates to the operations team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment consistent with a healthcare setting

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a similar hands-on role
  • Working knowledge of minor plumbing, lighting/electrical, fixture repair, and general handyman tasks
  • A resourceful, repair-first mindset with a track record of solving problems cost-effectively
  • Comfort with basic IT/AV setup (mounting and connecting TVs, monitors, and similar equipment)
  • Painting experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a service ticket queue independently and on budget
  • Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment, and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting up to ~50 lbs)
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for travel between clinic locations
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a patient-facing healthcare environment

Preferred

  • Painting and drywall/touch-up experience
  • Basic electrical or lighting repair experience
  • Familiarity with ticketing or work-order systems
  • Prior experience in a medical, dental, or other clinical facility
