FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to safely and efficiently perform daily upkeep of all campus facilities. This position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and minor new construction throughout various buildings on campus. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with safety protocols related to hazardous materials and industrial machinery.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform drywall repairs including but not limited to hole patching, sanding, and sanding.

• Assemble and move various office furniture (desks, chairs, filing cabinets)

• Perform flooring repairs and installations (tile, laminate, vinyl, carpet)

• Concrete repairs and patches with occasional small new surface work

• Ceiling tile / grid repair and installation

• Plumbing repairs (faucets, water closet repairs, leaks)

• Light bulb changing

• General wood carpentry

• Minor custodial duties (soap and paper stocking, trash removal, mopping as needed)

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 5+ years of experience as a facility maintenance technician

• Ability to follow safety and environmental procedures

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with minor electrical repairs (light switch and receptacle wiring)

• Welding and fabrication

• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety compliance standards

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Industrial environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures.

• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, respirators, and safety glasses.

• Pre Employment Medical Testing: Respiratory Fit Test

• Audio Exam

• Physical Demands:

• Lift & carry between 50 and 80lbs

• Bending/stooping

• Climbing ladders

• Working at various heights

• Use of hand tools.
