The Opportunity: The Binghamton JCC is seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Facilities Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining buildings and grounds, enjoys solving problems, and appreciates the variety that comes with no two days being exactly the same.\n \nAs our Facilities Technician, you will help ensure that our 60,000-square-foot community center and 8-acre campus remain safe, clean, attractive, and fully operational for the thousands of members, program participants, and visitors who use our facility each year.\n \nThis is a hands-on position responsible for a wide range of facility maintenance and repair tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, preventative maintenance, minor renovations, landscaping, snow removal, and general building upkeep. You possess working knowledge of the systems, equipment, and tools required to operate a large commercial facility efficiently and effectively.\n \nThe ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:\n\n General building maintenance and repairs\n Plumbing\n HVAC systems\n Carpentry\n Electrical repairs and troubleshooting\n Painting and finishing work\n Landscaping and grounds maintenance\n Lawn care and mowing\n Snow removal, salting, and ice management\n Preventative maintenance programs\n \nExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as MaintainX, is a plus but not required.\n \nAdditional Qualifications:\n\n Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 pounds\n Valid driver's license with a clean driving record\n Dependable transportation\n Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail\n Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities\n Successful completion of a background check\n \nAll tools, equipment, and necessary safety gear are provided.\n \nSchedule: Core hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.\n \nSeasonal flexibility is required during winter months to support snow plowing, salting, and shoveling operations. The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in ensuring our campus is safe and accessible so that the JCC can open on time for members, staff, and program participants.\n\n
