Job Description ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician II is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation and safety of the industrial facility. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct thorough inspections, repairs, and/or preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems. Complete installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and building infrastructure. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and report any issues to the Maintenance Supervisor. Provide training and guidance to entry-level technicians and assist with their development. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services. Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES)
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and perform physical tasks as required. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in an industrial setting. Knowledge of building automation systems and controls. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards. Vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
