Facilities Technician – Parker Aerospace

Role Overview

Parker Aerospace is looking for a Facilities Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment and plant systems. This is a highly hands-on maintenance role supporting production equipment such as mills, lathes, compressors, hydraulic systems, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and motion-control equipment.

The technician will be responsible for both preventive/predictive maintenance and emergency troubleshooting, with a strong emphasis on equipment reliability, safety, and minimizing production downtime.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: $54,000–$66,500 based on experience
  • Bonus: 5% annual bonus
  • Hourly position with overtime available
  • Typical schedules:
    • 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
    • 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Must be flexible for occasional nights, weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours

What They Will Actually Be Doing

Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot and repair production machinery including:
    • Mills
    • Lathes
    • Heavy manufacturing equipment
    • Hydraulic presses/systems
    • Compressors
    • Air dryers
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Electrical/electronic equipment
    • Sensors and control components
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic repairs.

Electrical Troubleshooting

  • Read and interpret advanced electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and symbols.
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems using:
    • Multimeters
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Ammeters
    • Other diagnostic equipment
  • Diagnose issues involving fuses, switches, sensors, voltage drops, control panels, and motion-control components.

Hydraulic Maintenance

  • Install, assemble, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair:
    • Hydraulic pumps
    • Motors
    • Valves
    • Cylinders
    • Hydraulic lines
    • Proportional valves
  • Understand hydraulic contamination control, flushing, and proper system restart procedures.

Preventive / Predictive Maintenance

  • Follow established PM procedures and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Determine appropriate PM, PdM, or run-to-failure strategies based on equipment criticality and failure history.
  • Help establish PM requirements for new machinery.
  • Investigate recurring equipment failures and identify root causes.

Facilities / Plant Support

  • Maintain plant utilities and infrastructure, including:
    • Air compressors
    • Air dryers
    • Gas systems
    • Water systems
    • Vacuum systems
    • HVAC
    • Plumbing
    • Alarm systems
    • Building and grounds equipment

Continuous Improvement / Safety

  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and eliminate safety hazards.
  • Follow OSHA and plant safety requirements.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, and near misses.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area.

Operator Training

  • Help establish basic autonomous maintenance procedures.
  • Train machine operators on routine maintenance such as:
    • Fluid checks
    • Cleaning
    • Basic inspections
    • Identifying abnormal machine conditions

Ideal Candidate

MUST-HAVES

Look for someone with:

  • 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting
  • Strong hydraulic troubleshooting/repair
  • Strong pneumatic experience
  • Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read advanced electrical schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing machinery
  • Experience with mills, lathes, presses, CNC or similar production equipment
  • Experience with motors, pumps, valves, sensors, switches, controls
  • Preventive maintenance experience
  • Experience using a multimeter
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems systematically
  • OSHA/safety knowledge
  • Technical school, vocational degree, or equivalent experience
