The Facilities Technician will successfully complete preventive maintenance, work orders, and minor renovations to include tasks in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, and other duties as assigned.

Will be capable of understanding the diagnostic testing and analysis of the systems reference above and comfortable with making assigned repairs necessary for normal operations.

Required Education: Relevant coursework/specialized training or equivalent If any degree major/training is required, please specify the type. (NOTE: Concentration and minors are not equivalent to a major)

Formal training in facilities management or related field or completion of an approved trade program in any of the following trade programs: HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, lighting, temperature controls, electrical, or related trade.

(Will consider four years related education/experience combined).

Experience in any of the following technical trades: HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, temperature controls, or related trade.

1)Successfully complete required training courses.

2) Ability to perform the diagnostic testing and analysis of HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Temperature Controls, Lighting and electrical systems.

3)Successfully complete safety training courses and adhere to safety procedures.

3)Ability to communicate with campus customers and Technicians.

4)Ability to guide others in regard to necessary steps taken to repair and install a variety of equipment.

5)Knowledge and application of a variety of city, state, and federal regulations.

6)Ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and problems.

Preferred Education: Associate's degree If any degree/training is preferred, please specify the type:

Formal training in facilities management or related field or completion of an approved trade program in any of the following trade programs: HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, lighting, temperature controls, electrical, or related trade.

Preferred Experience:

HVAC or Energy Management systems operation. Maintenance experience in healthcare, research, or education areas.

CFC Universal, Journeyman Electrical, Journeyman Plumber, or certification of Energy Management System.
