CoreFactor is searching for a Facilities Technician on a permanent/full-time basis for a client in Albany, NY.

This position requires the successful incumbent to be on-site five (5) days per week.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a hands-on Facilities Technician to keep our 503B sterile manufacturing facility running every day. This is a wrench-in-hand, boots-on-the-floor role - you will perform preventive maintenance, respond to work orders, troubleshoot and repair building and utility systems, support contractors during qualification activities, and keep the plant clean, safe, and inspection-ready. You will report to the Facilities Manager and work closely with Production, Quality, and outside service providers. We are looking for someone who does the work, not someone who only designs or writes about it.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute the preventive maintenance schedule for HVAC, BMS sensors, air handlers, dust collection, compressed air, RO/DI water, electrical panels, and general building systems
  • Respond to work orders and corrective maintenance tickets from Production, Quality, and Warehouse - troubleshoot, repair, and document the fix
  • Perform routine inspections, rounds, and log checks across cleanrooms, mechanical rooms, and warehouse areas; record readings and escalate anomalies
  • Replace HEPA pre-filters, change belts, lubricate motors, swap sensors, and perform other routine mechanical and electrical tasks within trade limits
  • Monitor and respond to BMS and environmental monitoring alarms (temperature, humidity, differential pressure) and follow documented response procedures
  • Support cleanroom certification, HEPA integrity testing, smoke studies, and equipment qualification activities by escorting and assisting outside contractors
  • Assist with calibration of facility instruments (gauges, sensors, thermometers) and coordinate with calibration vendors
  • Maintain gowning rooms, airlocks, pass-throughs, and ancillary areas - including stocking consumables, lamp/bulb replacement, and minor repairs
  • Handle minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, door hardware, and lock/badge-reader fixes in non-classified areas
  • Receive, stage, and assist with installation of equipment, furniture, and facility hardware deliveries
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment, ladders, lifts, and hand/power tools safely; keep the mechanical shop organized and stocked
  • Manage waste streams (general, hazardous, regulated medical) per facility procedures and ensure dumpster/compactor service is on schedule
  • Support EHS activities - inspect eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit signs on the required cadence
  • Log every task accurately in the CMMS / work order system and follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Be available for occasional after-hours and weekend response for alarms or facility emergencies on a rotating basis

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; technical/trade school certificate is a plus
  • 3+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, hospital, or commercial building setting
  • Practical mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting skills - able to use a multimeter, read a pressure gauge, change a belt, swap a sensor, and chase a leak
  • Comfortable reading equipment manuals, P&IDs, and basic floor plans
  • Strong safety mindset - LOTO, working at heights, PPE, and confined-space awareness
  • Able to gown into ISO-classified cleanrooms and follow strict hygiene and behavior requirements
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working on a lift, and standing/walking for most of the shift
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with a work order list
  • Good written documentation skills - able to record what was done, what parts were used, and why
